Adult workshop coming up October 21 and 23, 2014
Scottsdale Artists' School
Class Description: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a family-focused Mexican holiday, celebrated around the world on the 1st and 2nd of November in connection with All Saints Day and All Hollow’s Day. This fine-craft based class will include the history and symbolism behind this beautiful cultural tradition. Students will be creating a variety of mixed media projects inspired by the arts, alters, and remembering of loved ones. Over this two day class students will complete three projects. The Day of the Dead inspired projects will include: painted ancestor banners, embellished Ofrenda boxes, and symbolic Wishing Wands. Participants may want to bring photocopied images of their own ancestors to include on their ofrendas. All other materials will be provided for the class.
