IN FLUX Cycle 8

    

New IN FLUX art installations by Daniel Funkhouser and Christy Puetz are currently on display at Burton Barr Library, 1221 N. Central Avenue. IN FLUX is a partnership between the City of Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture and public art programs from Chandler, Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale, and Tempe. These six cities selected ten artists to create temporary public artworks in locations across the Valley. ​

Both installations are located on the first floor.  

Large rabbits, dog, lamb, and panda bear are located at the entrance to the children's area.  

The tallest piece is almost 4' tall (rabbit on the right). 

All pieces are fully beaded and great in person.

  

 Art will be on view during regular library hours for approximately one year.

Installation 2 is located in the "mini maker" section of the children's area.

6 Cities + 10 Artists = INFLUX CYCLE 8

IN FLUX Cycle 8 Partner Cities—Glendale, Peoria, Chandler, Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix— issued a collective call for artists as part of the IN FLUX initiative's newest cycle, placing temporary public artworks in a wide variety of locations throughout the Valley. The locations range from art centers, libraries and government buildings, to public plazas and plinths. The artworks from Cycle 8's cohort of artists vary in material, size and style for an exciting range of site-specific experiences. The work will be on public display for one year, beginning in April 2019.  more info:  https://influxaz.com I am very proud and excited to be a part of the IN FLUX Cycle 8 public art program. I will have two installations of large scale beaded creatures featured at the Burton Barr Public Library in Phoenix, Arizona for 1 year.  Installation begins April 14, 2019. One installation will be located on the first floor near the children's area, this group includes two giant rabbits (one is 4ft. tall), a lamb, panda bear, and dog creature.  All are beaded. the second installation will be located in the children's in the make it area.  This will include smaller faux pearl covered rabbits
